Amman, June 22 - The Senate Arab, International and Expatriates Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Dr. Hani Mulki, discussed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas during its meeting on Sunday.
Mulki reviewed the sensitive circumstances and developments in light of the ongoing regional developments, noting that the interests of regional states in the Middle East have directly impacted the current situation in the region. He called for the need to find a unified Arab position.
He emphasized Jordan's steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, as outlined by His Majesty King Abdullah II in his recent speech before the European Parliament. He noted that this speech demonstrated the depth of Jordanian thought and foreign policy regarding the centrality of the Palestinian issue.
He explained that the Palestinian issue remains central to Jordan, despite the current conflict in the region, and that the only solution is to strengthen Arab unity and strengthen Arab cohesion through a common position based on cooperative development. His Majesty the King has always called, and continues to call, in all Arab meetings to strengthen the unified Arab identity.
He noted that this is an opportunity to unite Arab ranks against any expansionist ideology or regional ambitions, and that the central Palestinian issue must be at the forefront of Arab thought and position. He emphasized that His Majesty's speech, which included concepts that echoed Western thought, clarified the Kingdom's principles regarding the Palestinian cause.
The committee called for unifying the internal front, communicating information, and communicating transparently in light of rumors and false news, and for standing behind the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
The committee's senators reviewed the current situation and developments in the region, and the ideas presented regarding the course of events in the regional arena and the impact of these developments on the Kingdom.
