The Senate Media and National Guidance Committee reviewed, on Monday, during its visit to Al Mamlaka TV, its ambitious plans for greater presence and influence in the national and international media scene and the work progress of the channel, which enjoys more trust.
The head of the committee, Senator Mohammed Daoudia, said that the visit to Al Mamlaka and the meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the channel, Fahd Al-Khitan, and its General Manager, Jaafar Al-Zoubi, comes from the committee's role that aims to support all national institutions, believing in its role in protecting national awareness, highlighting achievements, and demonstrating the positive Jordanian role in various forums, especially supporting the Palestinian cause and the issues of the nation in general.
Senator Daoudia stressed that the Kingdom deserves more support and empowerment to develop its programs, goals, content, and presence.
Al-Khitan and Al-Zoubi pointed out the focus on social issues and concerns and the keenness to convey the realistic image to the citizen and address his needs. They added that Jordan is distinguished by many media competencies that are recognized domestically and abroad.
Dawoudia expressed his satisfaction with shedding light on issues of concern to the nation and its citizens to find appropriate solutions to these issues.
He stressed that the media is one of the weapons of countries, whether in war or peace, "and our media represents the voice of the nation and defends the state's positions in all circumstances, especially its role in supporting the Jordanian position against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip."
He stressed the importance of the media supporting the state's positions during the crises it faces, and supporting modernization and progress projects.
Al-Khaitan said that the channel's news coverage during the war on Gaza has become around the clock, noting that the steadfast Jordanian role towards stopping this war was an incentive for the media to play its national role.
He pointed out that the number of views of followers of the Kingdom's content on social media platforms exceeded 300 million views during the war on Gaza.
The attending dignitaries praised the role of Al-Mamlaka Channel in covering the war on Gaza and supporting the official position calling for stopping this war and preventing displacement, and delivering humanitarian and relief aid to the people in the Strip. They pointed to the urgent need to strengthen bridges of trust between citizens and official bodies, noting that the media is responsible for contributing to strengthening these bridges.
The meeting was attended by Senator Mohammed Daoudia, Chairman of the Committee, as well as members Ali Al-Ayed, Ammar Al-Qudah, and Sharhabil Madi, as well as the Secretary of the Committee, Thamer Al-Sakhin, and Mohammed Al-Rawashdeh from the Senate Media.
